Department Mission
  • The primary functions of an operations department include the design and management of products, services and processes. In addition, the operations department evaluates and allocates resources to effectively deliver products and services. Management of supply chains is also an essential function of an operations department.
Role
  • To support veterinarians along with veterinary specialists, allowing them to concentrate on the job responsibilities of theirs. Veterinary Assistants provide clientele with info concerning products and treatments, continue therapy parts clean and help with nursing tasks.
Authority
  • Monitoring an understanding of animal behavior
  • Creating training regimes
  • Educating others about animals, their behavior, training, and environment
  • Checking relevant regulations and standards
Responsibility
  • Ensuring treatment areas, hospital areas, examination rooms, cages and laboratories are neat and organized.
  • Sterilizing equipment.
  • Ensuring clients and pets are cozy in the waiting area.
  • Supplying empathetic proper care for hospitalized patients and also holding individuals and their cages clean.
  • Restraining irritable, angry people appropriately and safely where necessary.
  • Assisting with administering medication, drawing blood as well as cleaning up patients’ teeth.
  • Performing diagnostic laboratory and imaging tests.
  • Liaising with veterinary technicians and veterinarians to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Complying with clinic standards, policies, regulations and rules.
  • Maintaining medical records.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or perhaps appropriate equivalent.
  • NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant certification.
  • Affinity for animals.
  • Great communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Good social skills.
  • Great organizational abilities.
  • dexterous and strong Physicality, and power to stand for extended periods.
  • Offered to work around weekends.
